Shab lives in Los Altos where she and her husband, a hardware engineer working in Cupertino, are raising their two daughters who currently attend Loyola Elementary School in Los Altos and Harker School in San Jose. Her daughters previously attended, Woodside Parents Nursery School, St. Mathias Nursery School, Bing (Stanford), North Star Academy and Woodland School in Portola Valley. Shab has had extensive leadership roles in education making her the perfect resource for finding the best area schools.

Shab earned her BA in Anthropology at UC Berkeley. She also earned an Entrepreneurship Certificate with an emphasis on Marketing and Negotiations from the Stanford Graduate School of Busines. Shab is an active member of the community with organizations such as Loyola Elementary School Board, Green Foothills Community Advocate Leadership, North Star Academy Board, Parks and Recreation Commissioner and the Assistance League of Los Altos.
